What’s new with Stache?

Stache is now available with an OCLV Mountain Carbon frame that saves about 400 grams compared to the carry-forward alloy Stache frame. The new carbon frame is featured on the Stache 9.6 and the Stache 9.8, both of which also get new RockShox 120mm forks. Stache 9.8 gets some big upgrades from Bontrager with Line Pro 40 OCLV Carbon wheels, the new Line Pro 35mm cockpit, and the new Drop Line dropper post. While the alloy frame remains unchanged, both alloy models, the Stache 5 and the Stache 7 get new Manitou forks with 120mm travel for a bump in capability over last year’s models.

Besides the frame material, are there any other differences between alloy Stache and carbon Stache?

Yes. New carbon Stache follows modern trail bike geometry evolution. That means it gets a slightly lower BB for added stability, and a significantly longer top tube, which allows riders to run shorter stems for better control. New carbon Stache gets Carbon Armor both under the Midstay and under the down tube for added protection over rough terrain.

What sizes are available?

Carbon Stache is available in 15.5, 17.5, 19.5, and 21.5. Alloy Stache models are available in 15.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5, and 21.5.

What is the max tire size for Stache?

29 x 3.0”

Is carbon Stache available as a frameset? What about alloy Stache?

Only carbon Stache is available as an aftermarket frameset.

Can I run a rigid fork on the carbon Stache?

We don’t recommend it. Carbon Stache is optimized for a 120mm-travel fork. Running a rigid fork with a shorter axle-to-crown height will result in an overly steep head angle and undesirable handling. Riders can still run rigid forks on alloy Stache frames, but should be aware that this will result in asteeper head angle and correspondingly quicker handling.

Is Stache compatible with SRAM Eagle drivetrains?

What is the max chain ring size?

The max size is 32, but the recommended size is 30.
